「This place is such a gem! It's clean, tidy, close to the beach, a short drive to amenities, and quiet. I stayed in the romance suite with my six year old in room C (the one at the end) and it was MAGICAL. Beautiful trees, a salmon stream, and trees right outside the window. Beach across the street you can walk to and collect rocks. The room was clean, the jet tub was wonderful, and even the instant coffee was delicious. 「The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! 」

「Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked...

「Friendly staff, comfortable bed, nothing special but a reasonable place to stay for a reasonable price. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper or a princess but we enjoyed our stay. 」

「Our host was very welcoming and messaged us with info when needed. The towels and bed linens were luxurious. There was a lovely sunset out the window and morning coffee and fruit was much appreciated.」
