「The home is high on a hill, modern and very clean. The pool is wonderful and a perfect temperature. We stayed for 1 month. Beatrice met us at the house and responded to our questions quickly. The cleaning crew came in once a week which was fantastic We were not prepared for how steep and narrow the roads were in our area, but it appears to be the norm. My husband eventually became an expert driver. Madeira is a wonderful place to visit. We are happy we chose An Island Apart. 」

「Our family of 10 enjoyed our stay at this house. It is massive with room for everyone to spread out. The kids loved having room to run around outside and were thrilled with the trampoline and pool table. 「We all concluded that the best word to describe this villa was ‘palatial’. Spotlessly clean marble floors, cosy couches and fab pool, it had everything we needed. Not far from the centre of Funchal, albeit down a very steep hill, it’s a great location with amazing views. Luckily Bolt taxis are very reasonable so that saved us the steep walk back up the hill. 「Would definitely recommend staying in this property! Done to a very high standard and very clean. Easily walkable to the centre of Funchal, approx 10 mins downhill. Host communicated well and parking on site within our own garage. Nice area around the pool. And provided with a small package of essential foods on arrival. Brilliant stay! 」

「Quiet neighborhood that is notably separate from the hustle and bustle of Funchal. There is much greenery below the property before more structures exist which helps keep the surroundings quiet. The glass railings give relief from the winds and the hot tub is nicely positioned. There is covered lounging furniture for when the afternoon showers come which still allows you to sit outside. 「We felt pampered in this huge old (1826) villa. The rooms are large with soaring ceilings. Many of the furnishings are gorgeous antiques; every bedroom has a large bathroom.The grand piano was played every day with amazing sound acoustics. The gardens and grounds are extensive and are like a private arboretum. 「Wir hatten sehr schöne Tage auf Madeira. Leider entsprach die Unterkunft nicht der Beschreibung und den Bildern. Wir waren zu fünft und es ist uns ein Rätsel wie man mit 10 Personen dort unterkommen kann. Am Platz scheitert es nicht aber an der Ausstattung, es hat zu wenig Sitzmöbel im ganzen Haus so wie am Pool. Die Haus ist zudem schon deutlich abgewohnt und hat hier und da Schimmel an den Wänden.
