Pleasant staff, very efficient. Room was clean, central location, close to large strip mall and train station. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet.

We stayed at this ryokan & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The ryokan was quite modern with good facilities & amenities. Our room was a jr suite with private open air onsen which was marvellous. We had very high quality beddings & slept well. The communal public bath areas were also very nice. Parking was a breeze, just in front of the property on the other side of the road. The breakfast was good with many dishes. We would definitely return

We've stayed at the Monterey hotel chain in various locations & a few times at this specific hotel. In the past, it's 5-star rated but this time, it could hardly 3 stars: - The room was dated & overdue for a renovation - Maintenance: the main door lock didn't work, we had to rely on the secondary latch to secure the door. - Staff helpfulness (or the lack of): on Tue 19/May around 07am, we asked a front desk lady to help us send our luggage via Yamato to the airport & were advised that it must be done at the train station. We did just that & learned that it could have been done from the hotel. - We stayed 4 nights & enjoyed breakfast the first 3 mornings on the 3rd floor. However, on the 4th morning Wed 20/May, the breakfast on the 5th floor was reeking with cigarette smell - the smoke was so strong impacting the quality of an otherwise very nice breakfast experience So far, whenever in Sendai, we'd try to book this hotel, but this experience has changed our position

Charming hotel. Meals are served buffet style, with a large selection. Hotel has two sets of public baths to chose from; an indoor pair with dedicated separate male and female sides, and the much more extravagant outdoor baths with a view of the river with a smaller, enclosed bath and a larger open air bath area. Do keep in mind that the the larger bath is on a rotating schedule between genders, and the men's time is in the mornings (5-10am) and the women's time is in the evenings. The outdoor baths are beautiful, but this has a slightly more corporate/hotel vibe than a more traditional ryokan, but the prices are quite good. An indoor pool is available as well.

Room was clean and comfortable. Small compared to North American hotels, but standard for the price point in Japan. Fun location if you want to be close to nightlife. It’s surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, clubs etc. but the room was quiet with no outside noise. Close to train station, 5 minute walk to the subway that connects to the JR lines and Sendai station.
