"I’ll try to be as fair as possible. This place is really beautiful. It’s a gorgeous building and a very pretty setting right on the water. I know everyone has their own expectations and mine were not met on many levels. First of all the place didn’t seem like a real hotel. I THINK it’s more like an all inclusive resort (that doesn’t include very much). My stay was for a superior room with terrace and ocean view. The view was obstructed and the terrace was so small it was not usable. There was a table and two lounge chairs that you almost had to walk on in order to sit on them. The room next to us had a terrace at least twice the size as ours. They advertise they have a gym, they do not. They a treadmill, a 60 yr old stationary bike and 15lbs of metal plates. Yes a grand total of 15lbs. If you want to eat lunch you can do so between the hours of 12-1pm and choose from about 10 item on the menu. Breakfast was included with my room. The breakfast I assume is very European, lots of pastries some cheese and meats and warm scrambled eggs. Dinner??? I THINK the deal was you had to buy a buffet for $45 per person which would but nothing was clearly communicated to me. There were about 100 elderly people at the resort from Milan on some sort of tour/vacation and ALL of them, ALL of them were grumpy and NEVER smiled. The hotel is located in a very rural residential area that is charming in its own right but there’s nothing around it. You’d need to take a quick cab ride into Forio."

"This hotel is wonderful. The accommodations are comfortable and modern. The food is outstanding - the breakfast is just incredible - literally anything you can imagine, no exaggeration. But the staff? These are good people who go out of their way. We wanted to stay an extra night and our room was not available - so they upgraded our room at no extra cost. I am having a tooth-ache, and Francesco (sp) actually called his own dentist to help us out. Obviously, I can't say enough about our blessed experience at Tenuta del Poggio. Thank you!"

"Excellent location! Beautiful views, excellent breakfast . The pools were very relaxing. Love the sound of the water from my balcony. The restaurants were excellent especially the one down the hill. "

"This is a hidden gem. Tucked away along the coastline of Ischia, this place is a very relaxing and quiet resort type of hotel. The food is off the charts delicious. Would highly recommend. The sunset is straight out of a movie. "

"Our stay was fabulous at Mezzatorre. The service staff is spot on. If you’re questioning if it’s worth it - it is. The breakfast was included however we didn’t realize it so we didn’t take advantage of it until the last day and we didn’t really even eat much. Also the thermal spas are included as well. And the bed and toiletries are great as well. We stayed 3 nights and felt like 1 more would have been better. "

"Amerigo and his family were so extremely welcoming to me, and made me feel at home. Amerigo even picked me up when I was lost finding the hotel, and drove me to the ferry when I left. They made me feel very safe and welcome as a solo female traveler. The sea balcony was beautiful, and you can have your breakfast on the water. Walkable to the town centre, with a beach on the way. I will definitely return when I get a chance to come back to Forio. "

"We selected Samiramis as a bit of a splurge to recover from the marathon travel day from San Francisco. The staff were very helpful with arranging the airport transfer and early check in. The property was beautiful, with 4 thermal pools and wonderful views. We had thought we might have a day at Poseidon just down the road, but we enjoyed Samiramis so much, what was the point? We were certain we had made the right choice when we ran into the crowd leaving Poseidon at the end of the day and did not see a single smiling face. We could barely contain our own smiles in the paradise that was Samiramis. Top marks for the staff, the pools, breakfasts, cafe, landscaping, the room, location, nearby dinner options, convenient bus stop. Wish we could have stayed longer."

"I chose this location for its views, balcony and ratings as a romantic location to celebrate a very significant wedding anniversary. The hotel and staff delivered a mixed experience. While spacious enough and clean, the rooms were not necessarily aligned with the room rates. Some aspects were excellent and recently renovated, while others were a little tired. For the rate we paid it was a little disappointing. The rest of the facility had some excellent features and were certainly on-point especially when it comes to the views from the rooms and restaurant terrace area and the breakfast. The pool and spa area was nice enough, however could use a refresh, spa services were barely average. Communication with the hotel was sporadic until we got there. They were slow to respond on WhatsApp / email and ultimately we just figured things out ourselves. Once there, it was fine however. The biggest disappointment for us was the lack of the little extras one might expect at the price point we paid. They asked us if we were celebrating anything when we booked, and I mentioned our major anniversary would be there and in numerous requests for recommendations (which were largely ignored). Despite this, there was absolutely no acknowledgment or personal touch in recognition of our choosing the property to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is family-run, which could be a great thing but in this case seemed they were strained for resources. Just my impression. But the views! "

"Great location! Walking distance from the beach. Friendly staff. Clean resort. Towels and umbrellas for Beach use. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Our biggest issue was regarding comfort. The beds and pillows are extremely flat. The showers are tiny. And the rooms are not soundproof at all. This resort still uses old-fashioned keys to enter and exit the rooms. You can hear people trying to unlock their doors throughout the entire night. The doors are heavy and close loudly. "
