"I love village hotels. I think they're the best chain to stay in. Always good standards with great facilities. However, although we had a nice stay, and the staff as always were great, this one has seen much better days. It was very worn and looked tired. The carpets throughout need replacing. Wallpaper was coming off the walls in the halls. Our rooms were nice, but just need a bit of tlc. A nice stay, but the hotel needs some love"

Didn’t get to use the rooftop bar on a sunny day as was closed for private party which was a shame. 10-15 min walk to everywhere we wanted to go: The quay restaurants, New Theatre, the Minster, the Polar Bear Club (fab live music in small pub setting!)"

Room was excellent bed very comfy and looked out onto trees which was lovely seeing birds and squirrels couldn’t have asked for a better night away. Small points to mention, towels are small, and we had no soap in the bathroom, toilet seat was dirty, had to wash it before I could use it.
