"Poor experience at the Hotel. 1. door to room very squeaky. 2 shower was very poor, hardly any force in the water. 3 Arrange a meal and ordered Parfait/bread, which was not but Pate, along with the most greasy bread oil was oozing out the bread, returned could not eat. 4. going for breakfast, they need to take off the sausages, as stated Rare breed sausages, not sure what breed but they were horrible, not only confirmed by us but other members staying there. 5. Parking states free, this is not the case, it comes with first there, if you cannot get a parking space, you will have difficulty parking, we arrive NOT at high season, so will be extremely difficult to park anywhere. staff were quite rude too. will not be returning."

"Very comfortable, but our impression was it was more suitable for a couple of days than a week. It is quiet, interesting with the racehorses working around you, and close to easy walks."

"The living area is very spacious the pictures don't really do this justice, every is there that you need, the beds are comfortable. Lovely cottage feel but modern for comfort. Wish we'd stayed longer ."

"Nearest shops are in Bedale but there is fantastic pub in the village, the landlord is a great bloke as are the folk from the village was made to feel very welcome "

"This was our 2nd visit to Foal Barn Cottages, staying at the Smithy... We had another amazing week 22/07 - 29/07. Both Leigh and Sue are friendly and more than helpful. Plenty of walks and we can recommend Middleham Castle, Castle Bolton, Richmond Castle and try a visit to Staithes.We will definitely be visiting again. Darren & LeoneWest Coast of Scotland."

"It is beautiful property, elegantly presented and fully equipped. Delightful hosts in a gorgeous countryside location only 25 mins to the centre of Ripon. Guests with significant mobility challenges might need to be aware of the sunken bath / shower. The beds and bed linen were high quality and very comfortable. We'd love to return. "
