The hotel entrance, bar and restaurant have obviously been recently refurbished and are lovely. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the bedrooms.
We paid extra for a Junior Suite which was spacious but tired - there was wallpaper peeling off areas of the wall and mould around the edge of the bath.
If you were staying to use the Spa, then I guess this would be ok, but for us it was just an expensive hotel and probably wasn’t worth the high cost.
Also, on our second morning breakfast service was terribly slow - a fact they blamed on unpredicted demand, and a football team staying over, despite having to book for breakfast in advance.
The location is good - convenient for lots of local sights.
Overall, not a bad hotel by any means, but overpriced unless you intend to use the spa.
