「The room is okay for the price. The floor is very dirty, so I wore my slip on sandals when I was in the room. You have to pay extra money if you want your room cleaned and plan on doing a lot of walking and steps if you stay here. 」

「The owners are very helpful and super friendly. The courtyard garden is a great place to view birds and anoles. The view from the pool deck is beautiful.」

「Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. 」

「The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! 」

「No elevator, so climbing stairs up 3 floors with suitcases was rough. The room was in need of repairs. A recent water main break had the shower water coming out rusty. The only positives were the location and the pleasantness of the staff. 」

「Host was available to provide help when needed. The place was incredible, and probably the best location I've stayed at to date. Absolutely perfect, the golden standard. 」

「Wonderful property with amazing views, cute rooms, pool and very friendly and helpful hosts. Walkable to the Ferry Terminal and 5 minutes in taxi to airport. Perfect for a long stay or just to add on the beginning and end of a BVI charter week」
