What a great experience at GRAND! My family and I have never stayed at shared place before, and I am blown away at how great this place accommodated us. It's in a perfect location to explore the mountains, was beautifully decorated / clean, and the technology to access everything made it so easy to get in and out. Thanks for a wonder stay. If I'm ever back in Engelberg (and I plan on it), I'll be staying at the GRAND!

The Grand was excellent. My family loved staying here. The cleanliness was above high standards and the helpfulness of the staff was beyond expectations. Having the shared kitchen areas was wonderful. We were able to have a place to relax and eat our own food and we were able to meet many wonderful people. I would stay here again!

We loved staying here. Easy check in and out. The kitchen was superb and the bar was a great place to be. The bar man was so friendly and chatty. The room was spacious and clean and even had a balcony. Great water pressure for the shower and very comfy beds. The location near the station was superb. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall my family enjoyed our stay over Christmas at GRAND. Across the road from the bus (which we used to go to the Brunni ski hill) we also really enjoyed walking around town. When we came back to our cozy room, the entry was usually bustling, but our room was quiet- we loved our little balcony. The kitchen was great, and the kids loved using my phone as a key to "jedi" open everything. Parking was the only regular hitch for us, although this is not specific to the hotel, but generally an issue in Switzerland. I would definitely recommend the Grand!

Stayed for 4 nights from Indianapolis. Very convenient location. Kitchen well kept and clean. You can get coffee for a small fee from the app of the hotel. Requested extra towels which were promptly delivered. Engelberg was the best decision to stay, away from the crowds. If looking for beautiful Alps experience, this place is it. Fridges for each room conveniently marked. Just wish toiletries were provided too. Also a suggestion for owner to put signs “watch your step” there are lots of little steps everywhere that are not visible and I had a could be fatal fall. But this is a great concept and no hassle check in and check out. I was a little hesitant first of self check in but the ease of app makes it a breeze.

Overall the property was great because it was maybe a 2 minute walk from the train, so very convenient! However, our biggest issue was the washroom which had the sink outside in the room, the toilet separate and then the shower being completely separate which was a bit annoying. We also needed iron which was on another floor so it was a hassle. Another issue was that instead of the fridge being in your room, it is in a shared kitchen where you have your own kitchen but we didnt know of this until much later. Overall the property is nice and at a very good location, but we didnt find the stay/ room to be the most comfortable because of those issues.

The environment and distance to several "touristic" activities made it a sweet spot. The train leaves Engelberg to Lutern every hour (13:02 / 14:02 etc..) Going up by cablecar to Titlis was awesome (Go early 8 O'clock) to beat the busses filled with tourists (lol). Everything is to an extend automated so you dont see much of the staffmembers. But communicating by app. And help screen in/outside hotel helps alot. Other then a thermometer telling how cold the fridge/refridgerator is (we) I cannot think of any negative things. Would return here without a thought.

Our stay here was great. The entire building is spotlessly clean. We had comfortable beds and beautiful views of the mountains. The shared kitchen is such a lifesaver. It offers individual refrigerators and shelves, with the option to lock them. The bartenders are friendly and helpful, and the bar wasn't too loud in our room. There are a few parking spots on site. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated unpredictably, but otherwise the shower was good. I did not like having to download an app to check in and access my electronic room key. I had trouble setting it up because there was a discrepancy between the phone number format sent by Expedia and the phone number format accepted by the app. The chat feature was very helpful in sorting this out. I also had to upload my passport photo. I would have preferred a more traditional, personal check-in process, but other people may not mind. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Cool concept

Having traveled in my youth, I enjoyed the conviviality of hostles. As I have aged, I appreciate the quiet solitude of my room. I think this concept strikes a balance between the two. The rooms are all private. They work REALLY well with families. We were a party of 5 and had 6 bunk beds in our room, plus a shower and toilet. The common areas were clean and well stocked for cooking. The staff was around for questions despite the absence of a formal front desk. It is a bit different of a process. I booked through hotels.com and I downloaded the app “AA concierge” through I-store.The keys to the room and front door were digital and easy to use. We parked next to the building. The signage is a bit deficient, but I suspect it is due to local governance. The side of the building says “Grand”. It is right next to the train station. (Train station only has 2 platforms and is not an eyesore or noisy.) the app has a lot of information on the area and someone worked really hard on developing it.

Good location and good value for money

We liked the location and the hotel very much - just matched our needs since we planned very late. Common kitchen concept was good and had to get used to that experience. Other than that, it was in a wonderful location with very easy access to train and walkable to Mount Titlis cable car

Amazing property!!! This is a place I would gladly stay at again and again. Great deal for the location. It has absolutely everything needed. The hosts/concierge were phenomenal in their own regards. The app used for check-in is your key and it makes life so very easy. The Grand had really thought of everything. I highly recommend. Spotless, impeccable, a joy.

Great concept for family and friends - common kitchen is spotless and missing nothing. Room are large, clean and with good furniture. Location is great next to the train station and above next to the free bus stop leading to the slopes départures in less than 5 mins

This property exceeded my expectations. Everything was clean and I liked the decor. I absolutely loved the kitchen! I was surprised and loved the attention to small details, such as the availability of toys, a sippee cup, coffee, cookies/cake, ice, spices, plastic wrap, ect. The app was easy to use for checking in and out and opening the door. All staff members provided outstanding service. Special recognition to Alexander from Serbia. We had a fantastic stay! I also loved that this property is close to the market and train station.

Very nice place witch fresh rooms and comfortable beds. The staff was good and helpful. Location was really good aswell. Breakfust is available to order in advance. There is no desk where you can find staff or where you check in. You acually have do download an app. In the app you get a password wich you get in with through all the doors. This worked really well and it was nice to not have any physsical keys but might be annoying to some.
