"Tables for 2 in the dining room are far too small for breakfast. The food was good, but we had to ask for fresh eggs etc as the cooked foods were not replenished. no-one explained that other varieties of egg were available. Only scrambled on the hot plate and no staff manning the food station. Bedroom was spacious and clean, however it was chilly. "

"For the money to room size was good, suite like, you could tell that this hotel was nice in its day, however, you could see how may times things had been repaired and moved around, it was just tired. The beds were comfy and the room was clean but tired, so there were stains, holes in the walls, gaps where things had been, light switches that didn’t do anything. For the money it was ok. I imagine if they invested the prices would have to soar. We attempted breakfast which we paid 17+ pounds for each, not enough staff, hotel was very busy which meant we paid for cold food, no cups, no bowls, no food and the replenishment could not come quickly enough. It was a waste of money for us to do it. Parking is plenty and the use of the spa was a nice bonus which meant this wasn’t a 2 star review "

"The hotel room was very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The food menu was excellent. On the negative side, the hotel and rooms are in need of a refresh as quite rundown, but as the room was perfectly clean this wasn’t too much of an issue. The equipment at the breakfast station definitely need some replacements. The toaster kept tripping out and the coffee pot was useless as it needed to be pumped to get a tiny squirt of coffee out, although we had been told a replacement had been ordered. "

"There was no heating on at all, the wall plugs stop working around about 11:30 or there was nobody on reception the old radiator you can’t plug-in because the plug sockets weren’t working very very noisy and for the first time in my life no stuff on front desk that you can complain to"

"We stayed at the Red Lion for a few days as we were meeting family. The accommodation is situated at the back of the pub and is bright and clean. You can access it by walking through the pub or walking round the back. There is plenty of parking but it can get busy when the pub is open! It’s situation means you have easy access to get to many places by road very quickly. The staff who work there are fantastic and very helpful. We had breakfast each morning as well which was excellent! I would recommend staying here"
