We used to stay here frequently before Covid, it's since changed owners & reviews have been very mixed. We were greeted on arrival & shown to our room. The room was clean, had the usual tea/coffee amenities and a good sized tv. There was an end suite shower room which was clean & had soap & shower gel. There was no hand towel so we had to dry our hands on the bath towels. There were plenty of plug sockets in our room and the WiFi was excellent. The Marine Parade is very close to the sea front and bars, pubs, restaurants. There is paid parking on the roads but it gets filled up quickly. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at the Marine Parade Hotel. Little things could be improved, ie, a second screw to secure the loo roll holder, the shower head is too close to the corner, the only storage was a little frame with a few hangers, a chest of drawers instead of the table with the kettle etc on would have been useful. For the price we paid we really can't complain & we would certainly consider staying here again.

Room was very small and in need of repair. One of the doors on the shower cubicle came off when I closed it so had to put it back on. Went to pull the curtain and the hook fell off. Indoor TV aerial came off the wall a couple of times. Bathroom didn't have a proper washbasin, it was more like a garden planter on top of the toilet. Nowhere to hang any clothes. The whole hotel looked tired with a not very good makeover. Fair to say its very easy to get into town and the guy on reception was friendly.

Ahmed was so helpful and friendly. Took us to our two beautiful, spotless double rooms with breathtaking views of the sea! Lovely comfortable beds,nice showers in both rooms.Tea and coffee available in our rooms.Alltogether,a lovely stay and we will go back soon.Thankyou so much! X

Given the poor reviews I'd read about this hotel I was slightly concerned, however, I had no issues at all! I stayed in Room 4 which is in the rear on the ground floor & did not see or hear anybody else. The room was very small but adequate for 1 night - it was VERY clean & appeared recently refurbished, it had a tv + a table & chair. The bathroom bathroom was small but functional & again spotless!!!! I'd stay again but would request Room 4!!!!

It was well located and i love the ambience but inside was newly painted and some of my shirts had paint stains when i got home. Bed was also abit small but good reception.

Disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. As soon as we saw the entrance looked like a building site it looked closed down and my heart sank. I went up the stairs and found a small room that said reception. The manager was there gave mexa code for 3rd floor room. The corridor to the small lift filthy walls and door's neglected. Got to our room again filthy. Has to ask for quilt to be changed strained with blood and faeces. Windows rotting .No inside lock felt so unsafe had elderly mother with me felt ashamed ti have brought her here and had to stay as ticket's to a show nearby and too late to get back home by public transport. Hotel's. Com should remove this supposed hotel from there site its more like a filthy hostel

Dump with unfriendly management.

Absolutely disgusting. Shouldn’t even be listed or suggested. Stayed in many hotels in Eastbourne and they do tend to be a bit run down but that’s usually ok. But this place…even from the outside, don’t bother. Much better available at better price!

Pay for what you get...

The windows did not lock and the room door was on a code which did not seem to be unique to my stay so I did not feel particularly secure as a solo traveller. There was mould in the bathroom and half used shampoo. The TV didn't work either. The view was lovely, though, if that counts?

The hotel is more a guest house. I think it is being refurbished. The hotel corridors are quite dark and narrow as its an old building. However the room i stayed in was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and relatively quiet. With smart tv and remote controlled lights and fan and a sofa. It was cheap and i will stay there again. Its very conveniently placed just off the beach near the pier. Great for solo travellers.

From start to finish was not an enjoyable experience from the outdated abandoned looking entrance, the old carpets and poor decor this hotel is nothing like it’s led to be from arrival we was handed a scrap bit of paper with our key code for to enter the room from a man who looked lost and didn’t really know what was going on. Rhe site is more like a hostel than a hotel. From entering to leaving I didn’t not see another member of staff and there were no facilities for food or drink whilst on site. I had paid extra for a Seaview room and the view looking away from the hotel was the only impressive thing I can say about my state. Although the bed was clean and tidy, the room wasn’t very clean there was used condom wrappers and rubbish underneath the bed, the back of the door was covered in paint and there was just a complete lack of care when decoration was carried out. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly being a sliding door. The shower doors also didn’t close properly meaning that when having a shower the floor would collect a lot of water and with only 2 towels provided we had to share a towel to dry and use one to collect water lot prevent slip hazards. The bed was soft and lumpy and really didn’t enjoy my night.

Had a sea view so watched that which was nice,plenty of food options close by,room was clean,pier a two minute walk away,upgrading hotel,manager. Friendly and helpful.
