"My room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location near restaurants, bars, shopping and the Port."

"When you arrive at the hotel you appreciate the history that lies within it. The Crown Hotel has a charming appeal ,and it's a traditional English hotel. The reception area is inviting with a large fire place that is historic, and next to it is a very inviting lounge also. There is a lift that is ( supposedly) the oldest in Europe! The bar in in the resturant is very nicely decorated, a good choice of wine, beers and spirit's, if you would like to have a tipple. The rooms are very clean, the bed was very comfortable, with a good night's sleep had. Bathroom compact but was very clean, shower or bath was great with lots of hot water, they provide hair and body wash if you forget yours. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice and quality of food. The resturant again served very good quality food in the evening. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There is a Garden area to relax in with enough seating for all, also within the lounges they provide board games, cards, chess should you have time on your hands or while away the time with a night cap ! Definitely recommend a stay at The Crown."

"The staff was great - friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast on the premises. There was plenty of a/c which was most important. I paid extra to use the pool facility. The pool was small and crowded. Children were jumping in and no rules were enforced. If you want to cool off the pool is worth it but otherwise it wasn't great. Overall I recommend the hotel. Enjoy the food and great atmosphere at the bar."

"The on site staff were excellent, with several employees showing great commitment to making our stay as good as it could be. Unfortunately, the standard of maintenance disappointed and ws exposed by the hot oppressive atmosphere in the building and in our room in particular. The cooling system was totally dysfunctional and our room was permanently very hot and stuffy, dangerously so in my opinion. On request, staff provided us with an air circulating fan, but this was the best they could do as the built-in system simply did not work. Food and beverages services were good and the whole hotel appeared clean and tidy, difficult when there is rapid turnover of guests. Organisational investment is urgently needed to improve matters further, but congratulations and thanks to the staff, including the on-site management and reception."
