I make a yearly trip up to Vancouver Island to spend a weekend with friends and I always book a stay at the Super 8 in Duncan. It’s a nice, budget friendly property with wonderful staff and good location. You’re halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo, so there’s a lot to see and do in either direction, not to mention all the things in the nearby area. I’m already looking forward to my next trip up and I’m always happy to stay at this location.

The property is in need of a very good update. The room we were in with a hot tub had one of the floor boards lifting which was a trip hazard, which we reported to the staff. The bed was comfortable.

Our room was clean and beds were comfortable but the bathroom was very outdated with a leaking tap and we had a very loud HVAC. The room hallways are very shabby and the site looks like it needs a renovation. Overall we felt safe and the bedding and towels were clean. Although we felt safe inside, the surrounding the motel had evidence of transiency. Price seemed high for area and condition.

I love staying here when I visit the island. It's close to the casino and everything downtown. Never have any complaints about the staff, real down to earth people. The rooms are clean and we never have trouble sleeping due to noise.
