Today, fellow Trover member Stephanie Rickman and I got to visit several spots along the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge. We started out between Fulton, Il and Thompson, Il at a little place called Mickelson's Landing, which is a popular fishing spot. As we sat and waited for birds to fly by, this little American Mink just came swimming by and didn't seem bothered by us at all.

"I enjoyed everything about this quaint little cabin. It was the perfect way to peacefully enjoy the outdoors, watching the river flow, while sitting on the deck, by the fire. "

"Our girls trip was a 4 night stay and we loved every minute of it! Beautiful view of the river from the back deck. We spent a lot of time on the deck. Very relaxing! Owner was very helpful with any questions we had. Easy check in and out process. The house is spacious with many views of the river. "This was a really awesome place to spend the weekend. My girlfriend and I were looking for a unique place to stay while exploring the Mississippi Palisades and the surrounding hiking areas and this did not disappoint. The location was great; right downtown in Savanna and only about 10 minutes from the park. The apartment was clean, cozy, and well-furnished. Communication with the owners was great and the check in/check out was super smooth. We would absolutely stay here again! "

"Manager was extremely nice and allowed us to check in early. We had been awake for 48+ hours after plane cancellation and he agreed to let us come and crash. It was nice to be a key to eat before we left. Clean. Had microwave which was nice. Options to be able to buy snacks. Had an area for hanging clothes. Nice linen and no stains! Only thing it lacked was counter space. "

"The front desk at check in, on a really really busy weekend, was so great and so helpful, they assisted me with getting my other family members in a room next to us, so helpful.
