The Yunomori onsen ryokan was one of the best places I've ever stayed at. The Kaiseki breakfast and dinner was incredible and the staff were 10/10 amazing. We had an in-room onsen and it was perfect. The entire place was clean and incredibly cozy. I would absolutely recommend Yunomori to anybody! It's a short walk to Yuno Lake nearby and also some beautiful waterfalls. I highly recommend this place to stay in Nikko. It was a very special experience for us.

This place was absolutely wonderful! My first time experiencing an onsen and it was amazing. The shuttle pick up and drop off from the train station was great. The welcoming staff at check in/check out. The room I selected was AMAZING!! So serene and quiet. I got the private bath with my room, and boy was it relaxing. Everything was amazing. The room was spacious and my wife and I were able to rest and recover after a long multi week trip through Japan and Korea. The only downside was that the laundry facilities were temporarily out of service during our stay. Other than that I highly recommend for a peaceful night to recover the body.

Walking distance to lake, waterfall, and national park. Relaxing and serene atmosphere.

Great location in Zao onsen town. Very traditional—uniquely like “infinity castle” with stairs and tatami everywhere. The shuttle service from/to Yamagata station is a plus. Only public bathroom available, but there’s toilet in the room.

Top Notch facility. Excellent buffet, in which they came up with innovated ways and controls due to the COVID situation. Staff eager to help with anything. Location was nice as it was right on the river. Plan to go back during the Spring or early summer as scenery is spectacular.

Right next to the beach. It was great.friendly staff too. There are dogs close by, all are very nice just good to know.

We had a really nice stay at this hotel. The food was excellent. Chef Oohira is very skilled-the food was surprisingly delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Really high quality ingredients. Also, the rooms were clean as they had just opened a few months ago (Oct 2018). Further, their shuttle service was a bit inconvenient since they only offer 2 times per day to the station but other than that it was an overall great stay here!

We absolutely loved the private onsen in our room. Staff was very helpful in ordering a cab to the train station. I would skip the full board dinners in favor of supporting the local businesses!
