"I love staying at the older historical hotels in GDL. Hotel Francés just needs some extra touches. Like paint in the rooms and some dusting of the sofas in the reception area. Overall the place is okay. I wouldn’t stay there again just because there’s other hotel with similar prices and better quality. "The size of the room was good. Greeting new customers needing to be reassess by Manager. Outside the hotel is a very rough neighbourhood. Not recommended for solo female traveller. I was really looking forward to explore Centro Historico in Guadalajara. I will not go back in that area again. I walked half a block and had to return to my room. It felt it was very dangerous. Very disappointed for the price I paid for the hotel considering the location and barely any amenities. Also was a lot further to get to the airport than stated on Expedia. It was 42 minutes from the airport to get to the hotel opposed to 21 minutes as stated in the publicity. I had to pay 300 pesos to get to Centro Historico and 450 pesos to the taxi cash money to get back to the Guadalajara airport ( their shuttle !!!). Pricey shuttle. "
