My college friends and I take an annual fishing trip together. In the past, we have always chosen a house that is lakefront property, but this year, one of my buddies suggested the Susquehanna River. I had never heard of it, but he said that he had always wanted to go there because it is renowned for its small mouth bass fishing. The 4 to 5 hour ride from Long Island gave me pause to book anything in that area, but I am so glad that I decided to do so. The house was phenomenal. Super clean, cozy and nicely decorated/landscaped. It is everything you could want in a vacation home. The owners, Dave and Janice, were wonderful. They are very accommodating, lovely people, who went out of their way to make sure we felt right at home. it was more akin to staying at a bed-and-breakfast than a mere rental. Their home is adjacent to the property, and for the duration of our stay, it was like having the best next-door neighbors you could ask for. They respected our privacy, answered our texts in a timely manner and came over whenever we needed. The fishing well exceeded all of our expectations, and a good deal of that can be attributed to Dave. My friend and I hired a guide the first day, which was fine. We caught a good amount of fish, and got to fish a section of the river different than from where we were staying. However, it turns out we never needed to leave far from the property. Dave provided a lot of local knowledge and advice, so we caught plenty of fish r
