「The owners, Lisa and Christof were such amazing hosts, nothing was too hard to organise. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in a long time, each meal individually prepared. The rooms were beautifully presented and perfectly functional. It was pet friendly, however we did not have our dog with us. A short 8-10 min walk to the Torquay foreshore and restaurants, a great location and wonderful stay. 」

「Very friendly staff who made us most welcome. The meals were excellent. particularly breakfast. The bar was kept open, at our request, on Sunday evening so we could meet the family of the deceased before the funeral. A very important and emotional gathering of old friends.」

「Made to feel very welcome. Lovely fresh, clean room with a comfortable bed and good quality linen, which always aids a good night's sleep. Also huge bath towels which I love. Good selection of teas and coffee with fresh milk provided, which was nice. There were also some sweet treats and a tourist map provided in the room, which was very useful. 「This place suited my needs perfectly, it had ample parking and was within a 5 minute walk of the harbour. The owner was lovely and the rooms were beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. 「The best way to describe the Great Western is with the two words, quaint and quirky! The house is in the middle of a massive re-vamp, but that did not impinge on my stay, which was short, but long enough to form a very positive opinion.
