Our stay was very enjoyable. The host was so polite & helpful in any questions I had. Wonderful, quite little community yet just miles away from restaurants, shopping, & entertainment. A peaceful little retreat.
Beautiful scenery, amazing room, comfortable bed, the shower was the best shower I’ve ever been under, and the hot tub put the cherry on top of the cake! Loved the place and can’t wait to go back!
We decided to stay over the weekend and chose this location since it was on Douglas Lake. The interior in the photos sells it as modern, and upon arrival, the photos represented the place well. It was very clean and we loved the electric fireplace. The lake was at a lower elevation for the off-season but it was still nice to stand out on the deck and watch the birds and occasional fishing boats pass by. Being off-season, the restaurant on-site was not open but there was a wing and pizza place within walking distance. The pizza was good. The location was a quick, easy drive in to Pigeon Forge, which we did one of our two days there. The location is also really close to the dam and dam overlook, which takes you to one of the highest locations in the area and you get a really good view of the dam and part of the lake as well as mountains in the distance.
Douglas Lake is amazing. The view of it from the balcony is lovely and the hot tub a nice touch. The room was clean - VRBO sent us the wrong room to check in to, thankfully a staff member was there. The room was clean, but amenities lacking - tissue box empty and we had to refill our own soaps. The restaurant on site was slammed (Sunday night). A pleasant gal told us to sit anywhere, but the never gave us menus - we sat, waited a long time, and left. Food options in Dandridge are not great - Do Not Go to the Brewery! On Sunday, we were hoping for the pizza place close to the resort, but while the sign said they should have been open, they were not (we prefer local, not chains). We ended up at a seafood place - it was OK. As for the brewery - it was legitimately bad service and even worse food at a premium price. The lake - we spent all day on it and it was wonderful! The resort rents their boats - the service for this was prompt amd friendly - perfect all day on a beautiful lake!
