Check-in went great, and I appreciated the efforts of Christy in working with me on a solution when I arrived a bit early. The location is great - easy walk to lifts, Starbucks, dining, and shuttle buses. The carpet seemed to be new and the entire building seems to have been recently renovated. My only negatives were 1) a high deposit or non-refundable insurance, and 2) lack of basic kitchenware.Regarding the first, I've rented VRBO's for many years without issue. I've been requested to place a deposit/insurance one time, which was disclosed up front, for a multi-bedroom unit with a lot of amenities. I could not understand why a hotel room would require the same...especially because some basic items were lacking. Our kitchen cutlery included 2 spoons, 1 regular fork, 3 small oyster forks, and a few butter knives. Dining in is something important to us and it would have been a better experience with at least a full set of cutlery.Between the mandatory insurance and the letter they provide, stating that all items are inventoried before/after guests, the lacking items left a bit of a sour taste. But, if you don't do much cooking on vacation, this place checked all the boxes.
