"Overall I cannot fault this place. The reason I have given only 4 stars and not 5 is for the fact the bar after 11pm will not accept card or cash payments for alcohol. All drinks to be added to your room. Plus levels of staff were low especially with the number's in the bar after a gig. Dont get me wrong, the staff who were working were great. Just needed more."

"Very nice hotel, good location, very handy for train at Haymarket and short walk to heart of city. Clean and comfortable. Free tea and coffee available 24 hours. Very quiet so got a great night's sleep. Would recommend."

"The property is located close to historical sites plus venues for eating. The rooms are "modern" and clean. The staff was always helpful with answering my questions. The only issue I had is that the rooms do not have a chair to sit upon. If you want to sit and work on a computer you either sit on a stuffed stool (causes back pain) or sit on the bed that converts electronically into a large "sofa" of sorts. A chair would have been fine. Other than that the room was very comfortable."

"Likes: Location Castle views Dislikes: Bed was very hard Feathers... duvet, pillows... Multiple times asking for extra towels only for housekeeping to take them and not replace them. The heat! I understand that old buildings don't have AC but a screen in the door or something could help."

"Didn’t expect or need the “accessible room” but the shower chair helped when I was shaving my legs. Comfy bed but pillows a bit firm for my liking - no selection all 4 the same. Cosy room & coffee/kettle very useful along with single sachet 2 biscuits for a pre bed cuppa. Lovely friendly staff & able to check-out using lock box to return keys. Only thing I’d mention is with it being an accessible room ud think the door could open sufficiently for a wheelchair or someone using crutches (physio head here doing critical review) but otherwise totally pleasant and suitable for my location needs. Will likely stay again."

"The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to Edinburgh downtown. The staff were friendly and the room was modern and clean. The restaurant is very over priced with disappointing food. I would recommend not to eat there, there are plenty of breakfast/coffee shops and restaurants in the neighborhood that are a better value."
