「Our family stayed here on a trip to Long Beach. Previously we had stayed at VRBOs, campsites, and other hotels in the area, as the Fireside Inn was not built when we last visited. 「単身で一泊のみ利用。アストリアに用事があり、近隣の安いホテルがここしかなかったので宿泊。かなりの田舎町で、21:00頃に到着した頃には周りは真っ暗。人の気配も全くない。もちろん、食事等の施設もないので、予め済ませておくか何か用意していくべき。当日このホテルの利用者は自分ともう一人のみ。とにかく閑散としていて、ホラー映画によく出てくる寂れたモーテルのようだった。フロントのスタッフはフレンドリー。部屋は入った瞬間かび臭く、水道の水も赤く濁っていたので、利用した部屋は相当な期間人が泊まっていなかったようだ。それ以外は虫が出ることも、治安が悪いこともなく、至って普通。冷蔵庫や電子レンジ、wifiなど最低限の設備はある。積極的に泊まりに行きたいホテルではないが、特別悪いというわけでもない。」

「I absolutely loved my stay at the Moby Dick! I really appreciated the old-time charm and cozy, nostalgic feel. The grounds and surrounding scenery are absolutely beautiful, making it a peaceful place to slow down and enjoy the coast. What makes it even more special is knowing that staying here helps support marine research. That alone makes me even more excited to come back. 「Easy access to the Riverwalk. I would call my room adequate for me. If you’re wanting a room to chill and unwind and feel cozy, that’s not going to happen. A dog barking a couple rooms away annoyed me for hours. Only two pillows and they were less than adequate. Not a lot of room to move around. No small table. Lighting fair. No issues with the tv. There is WiFi, but I didn’t use it. Bathroom shower area adequate. Probably not for the female travelers. I would definitely think twice before...

「The “assessable” accommodations were not what we needed. Staff made verbal arrangements to change to a better room the next day but when we ask the morning staff they said they could not do anything. We ended up without a room at all and had to scramble to find an assessable new hotel for the night in a bust tourist community. Limited options made the change difficult and we were lucky to find a room at all.」

「It’s a very unique old hotel dating back to 1896. The architecture has not been updated but keeps a funky charm. Reused old wood furniture, old tub with an attached shower. Pub on site. Sauna and garden to relax. A pool table and board games. Fire place in the lounge area. Victoria was awesome. Loved it and would stay there again but not like a modern hotel.」
