Such a lovely, transporting stay at this beautiful country manor. The public areas are especially chic. The Nina room had an outstanding view and was huge; however, the plumbing was wonky with difficulty getting cold water and a shower that wasn’t scalding. One must run the water for a long time to calibrate it — contravening efforts to conserve. Also, the staff had difficulty checking guests out with any level of efficiency, so allow extra time for check-out.

Nice venue but pricy
Great venue and location. The grounds are well kept and nice to spend time in. The en-suite was very tired and shower in poor condition. Should of been cleaner.

Tired and in need of some TLC.
The hotel impresses by beautiful buildings & lovely grounds. We also appreciated an upgrade due to our recent wedding celebration. Unfortunately, our potentially beautiful room was dirty - stains on the carpet, curtains, & bed throw… cobwebs in almost every corner…. broken glass on the floor in the bathroom. On the 1st day it took 40 mins from sitting down to breakfast to get a cup of coffee… During our stay, the front of the hotel was decorated with dead flowers from a previous month’s wedding... They are obviously short-staffed and struggling - as are many hotels in this current climate - but when charging £595 a night, we feel we should expect excellent service, not 2* service in a 5* building. We generally like to give a business the chance to put things right, so we spoke to the manager on the first day. The result was much better service the next day at breakfast (we worried that may have been at a cost to other guests), and the stains were removed from the curtains and carpet. Cobwebs were still present & our radiator remained adorned with dust. Perhaps because we hadn’t literally pointed it out… As a token, the manager took the cost of one breakfast and £100 off our bill. On a bill of £1130 for two nights, that didn’t do the job. The hotel need to do a great deal to their service in order to justify their current pricing and sadly, we won’t be returning.

Very good hotel in ideal location in the Slaughters. Good rooms and lovely dining room with solid service. Good is pricey but very good and wine list very strong. Book with confidence.

A mixed review. We paid for a suite at a price of over £450 for one night but the room was not like the pictures. There were stains on the curtains the chairs and cobwebs behind the bed. And the hotel was having intermittent power cuts. We asked to leave and the hotel agreed to refund us. No complaints about the staff or the refund process. They were really friendly. And the hotel and grounds otherwise look great. Wished we could have stayed as we think we would have enjoyed it. But when your paying the same price for a hotel in the rosewood you expect just a little more than what we received. I think that room just needed a little refresh and it would be top notch.

The Lower Slaughters is a beautiful quiet location to stay. The Manor House was very nice, but the restaurant there(only one in town except for pub across the way owned by Manor House) was expensive with limited options.

Great location.
Lovely location and amazing for walks. We requested a firm mattress (at 11am when we reached the hotel) and we were told it would be arranged. When we returned at 5pm to check in, they didn’t provide that in the room which is very unfortunate when you are paying a premium price. The lady in the evening was very helpful and provided a thin mattress to put on the floor which was very helpful. That being said it was an uncomfortable night. I felt that we were misled.

Such a shame
Lovely staff , but very few of them. Two staff in reception, but only one computer, so we had to wait 15 mins to check in. Waited an hour to order breakfast as there was often only one waitress working in the dinning room. Dinner wasn’t great either for the money. My main portion was no bigger than the starter. The Dinning room is soulless , and the modernisation of the interior is crass in places. It was one of dream hotels and when we finally could afford to stay there for one night, it was a dreadful let down. Bedroom was a bit cramped but lovely bathroom and huge bath.

Pleasant but could of been much better
Loo ok very location and venue, sadly room and outside wasn’t upto scratch. This was a very expensive room and the garden hadn’t been maintained in some weeks. No housekeeping due to covid but no offer of extra water or toiletries over the 2 day stay. Residents bar closed at 22:45 on the Saturday evening, felt like the hotel was understaffed.

Lovely base for a mini Cotswolds break
Loved everything about our room - big, massive bed, roll top bath, powerful shower. (We stayed in Beech room in the old stable block) The Staff were lovely and super helpful. We enjoyed having breakfast delivered to our room in the morning, again nothing seemed too much trouble for the team there and all felt very Covid safe. Enjoyed our autumn walk around and between lower and upper slaughter very much too. Lunch at the sister hotel (the slaughters country inn) opposite was less impressive - good food but unhelpful staff and cold environment (we had to ask 3 times for them to light the fire next to our table so we could take our coats off!)
