"Absolutely charming little hotel in a perfect location inside the old walled city of Cartagena. Close to many great restaurants and some of the best shopping in the city yet very quiet. Walkable to most major attractions. The staff was awesome - so sweet and helpful and speak quite a bit of English which was helpful. Air conditioning worked great to keep our room cool and sleepable. "We spent 5 nights at Sophia Hotel in the Haggia (Terrace) suite. The hotel itself is in a great location and walkable to all restaurants and attractions. In terms of noise levels, the hotel IS situated across a public square and there was a festival taking place the last few days of our stay. It did get loud at times but by 11pm the music/performances stopped. Same with the rooftop lounge. They'd play music during the day and evening, but by 10-11pm it was quiet. "This is a great option if you are looking for a convenient location as its walking distance to everything around the walled city. Service was great and property was clean well kept. There’s only a few rooms which makes it feel intimate and peaceful and they have delicious made to order breakfast. The only downsides are that the rooms are pretty small, and bathrooms are tiny.
