The cabin is lovely—both inside and out. The kitchen is well-equipped with just about everything you’d need, and there are plenty of blankets and heaters in every room to keep things cozy and comfortable in the fall weather. The location was ideal for our trip and felt peaceful and private. There was a hiccup with the WiFi when we arrived, which made it a bit tricky to get in touch at first. However, once Scarlet received our message, she responded with kindness and got everything resolved right away. For future stays, I’d personally bring a backup hotspot or offline map—just in case—since cell service can be limited in remote areas. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay and really appreciated the care that’s clearly gone into making the cabin feel like a home away from home!

The cottage Sanfpiper was okay but it was situated just 2 meters away to a very busy and noisy main street. This was NOT mentionned on the published offer. Furthermore we never got any feedback on our questions. No communication at all; this is an inapropriate way to deal with problems. We don‘t recommend the Avonlea Forest Hill Cottages. Sorry but we are disappointed.

This place is a gem, looks scary from road because overgrown, not manicured but then the cabins within are so beautiful! Great location across from Avonlea village for all your needs. I would highly recommend.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay at the cottage. Very close to the Avonlea Village that has good dining options and a transit bus stop if you are looking to travel to other cities in PEI via public transportation. Plenty of walking/biking trails nearby and close to the Cavendish beach as well. We had a wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The place setting was rustic and quiet. The nature trails and historical resources were exactly what we were looking for.

I initially loved the property due to its closeness to local amenities and that it was centrally located. After 4 days, I did begin to feel sick, waking up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and cough , which seemed to get better when I left for the day, but always returned at night. I wasn't sleeping due to this, exhausted and taking cold medicine like it was going out of style. I ended up (literally looking up) to see mold in the ceiling that was likely the culprit. Due to this I chose to move to another rental that day, as I was suffering and my vacation was no longer a vacation. I submitted a notice to the property / Expedia that I was vacating with a video of the room that day to ensure it was in proper state, as well as photos of the mold. Expedia has told me that the property refused to answer their calls, until I had returned home, (4 days after I left) and had DENIED the credit of the days I did not stay, despite it being the cause for my illness on this trip. The day I moved into another property , I slept for hours and immediately noticed that my congestion was gone, and my cough was starting to disappear. Confirming my suspicions that it was the mold in the room that caused my reaction. Overall, it's a great location, seems quaint, but I was ill due to the condition of the room, and the property refused to acknowledge it, and return my money for the nights I did not stay there.

Piping Plover Cottage

Very clean cottage with lots of extra amenities like toys for children and supplies for cooking make this a great stay for families. The 2 bathrooms were also great!

Cozy yet spacious!

A very cozy yet spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage, in a great location not far from the beach or the Green Gables Heritage site. We were only there for one night but could see how perfect it would be for a longer stay. Depending on the size of your vehicle, the driveway may be a bit tricky to back out of right onto a main road (or tight to do a multi-point turn to get out) but luckily it wasn’t too busy on the street.

Comfortable, relatively new cottage. Very clean on the inside, deck area needed some attention with weeds poking up through the boards. Also kitchen needed a new sponge.

Relaxing stay and just what we were looking for.

This was a very pleasant stay. We visited the area in late September so definitely in the shoulder season. Many of the businesses around were closed for the season so we did have to drive a bit to find restaurants and groceries, but that wasn’t an issue really. The beds and pillows were comfortable. There were extra blankets for the cooler nights. There are only two things I could mention but they aren’t complaints. Merely things that gave us a bit of trouble. There are not ceiling lights so the receptacles work with a light switch. We had to figure that out when our chargers wouldn’t work. 😊. The other is that there could be more light. We started packing up the night before departure and it was just too dark in the upstairs bedroom to do that. The trip was my sister and I and we both agreed it was a lovely place and we would gladly stay again if in the area.
