Shining Waters Cottages

"Overall very good, we had a group of 30 family from Nova Scotia and Ontario. Mix of rooms, all good. My pull out sofa was full of food and mattress was ripped. Should be thrown out immediately. Fantastic location. Lots of room for the kids to run around and play! Used the firepit also. Bbq worked great. Poor communication with the management on every level. Main lady was always rude and agressive on her responses"

"Well located, with several great restaurants just across the street, making it very convenient for meals. The staff was super friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We traveled with two kids, and the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for all four of us. The hotel is older, but it is very well maintained and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The only area that could be improved is the breakfast, which offers limited options compared to the rest of the experience. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families."

"We stayed in a double room. It had a kitchen table and dressers, while some of the other rooms offered additional amenities such as full kitchens. Our room was very clean, looked well maintained, and smelled fresh without any overpowering cleaning products. It looks like the property has been making upgrades. Our room had a heat pump, which was a nice bonus, although some rooms still had window air conditioners. The common areas were also well cared for, with plenty of clean BBQs, picnic tables, and outdoor seating. The location was excellent, close to everything we wanted to see and do. We would definitely stay here again. We only used the pool for about 10 minutes because it was a cold and windy evening and the pool wasn't heated. The pool hours (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) seemed a bit limiting, especially for families. An earlier opening for a morning swim or staying open a little later after a day of touring the island would have been nice. "
