「I was not impressed with the customer service I received from the receptionist on duty upon my arrival. She did not greet me upon arrival and did not inform me in advance that the parking machine would not issue a receipt.」

「The rooms are advertised as luxury but in my single room there wasn’t a wardrobe or any coat hangers just a cluster of about three hooks hinged together. The food in the Henry VIII restaurant left a lot to be desired only ate the evening meal there on one occasion out of a 4 night stay, the fish and chips were very fatty and the chips were nearly black. 「I LOVED Carol. She was welcoming and kind, made an amazing breakfast for me, answered all my questions. A great hostess. My room (12) was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows and extra blankets. Nice big TV. The water pressure was really low but I think that’s typical in older buildings. The garden was peaceful and I enjoyed sitting there in the evening with a glass of wine. Great stay. Traveled from Canada.」

Thankfully the staff were able to accommodate a different room for our stay, but it is worth noting the rooms both shared a rather tired appearance and we left a little deflated bearing in mind the room rate.」

「Disappointing one night stop over. Its more of a business traveller, conference & private events venue than a country house hotel. Suite 15 is directly opposite the kitchen extractor fan which is on from before 5.00am until the kitchen closes at night & can easily be heard in the room. The room only had one bedside table & lamp, the glazed entrance is fitted with opaque glass & is the only window so there is no view. If you could see out you would be looking at the car park. 「The second time we have stayed here and it won't be the last. Conveniently situated in walking distance of the city centre and train station. The rooms are wonderfully spacious and clean and the staff are wonderful and a real asset. We parked in the Q park which is just round the corner, a 2 minute walk at most and the hotel offer a discount on parking there. We had breakfast both mornings and there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Loved our 2 night stay and cant wait for the next one.」
