The room was surface clean but off putting to see the grime around the bed legs. Obviously hoovered but months where it didn't get near enough that you could see it when sitting in the chair. Breakfast delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Possibly the hardest bed I ever slept in. Or didn't sleep in more to the point. So hard it hurt my hips.

Used as a quick stop over on the way north so was in and out in under 12 hours. However for the price the room was good had everything i needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was generally really quiet so slept well. Breakfast was okay for a bit of cereal and a coffee did not have anything cooked. Perfectly fine for a quick stop off

The staff were incredible, helpful, understanding, informative. The hotel itself whilst on a main road, I had a room at the front and didn't hear a thing! I found the beds to be comfy and the queen room to have exactly what I needed and reasonably priced too! Thank you!

No Air con in the rooms. And the windows were sealed shut. If you are looking to stay in the summer, you might want to reconsider. Not enough staff available to serve at the bar and book guests in. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast poor.

The staff were very friendly and helpful - absolutely no critique here. However, the hotel was severely understaffed: just one person for the bar, restaurant and check-in – cutting costs, I presume. The food (including breakfast) is below average and of mediocre quality. £16.90 is a ridiculous amount to pay for half-heartedly prepared potatoes with corned beef or a greasy lasagna with far too much cheese. You’d be better off eating elsewhere. The bathroom was clean, and the room was reasonably so too. However, there was a centimetre-thick layer of dust and an old fast-food box under the bed. It’s likely that this area hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. There was water damage on the ceiling and the wallpaper was peeling. In the corridors, the carpet is coming away from the floor. All in all, the hotel is showing its age and is in need of renovation and more staff. The photos online are sugarcoated or show the past. The hotel seems to be targeting travellers passing through, who come once and never return. As you’re sure to find somewhere else for just a few pounds more, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Lovely and friendly staff. Not the poshest hotel or the best location, but quiet and warm. Breakfast good value and other meals reasonable too. Easy access to A1 and M1 and close to J32 Outlet Centre- worth a look. York not too far away . Overall good value for money.
