The Blue Licks State Resort is located in a very rural and beautiful scenic area. Not much else in the immediate area. We did drive to 'downtown' Carlisle (maybe 15 minutes away). Not many stores opened, but people very friendly.

Good breakfast offerings; very nice front desk personnel, spacious rooms. The entrance to the hotel is a bit odd - it will feel like you are driving behind a shopping outlet - which you are. Shower floor could use a good scrub.
