The Twisted Sassafras Treehouse

The TWISTED SASSAFRAS TREEHOUSE is a brand-new custom-built treehouse located on 10 acres with a water view. It is nestled high in the trees and is the perfect romantic getaway for two! Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and sunrises while sitting on the deck. Cozy up in the 4-poster king size bed, snuggle up by the fireplace, relax in the hot tub on the deck or toast your feet by the firepit below. We also offer catch & release fishing!

The treehouse also features a fully equipped compact kitchen, keyless entry, two-person shower, hammock for two, BBQ grill, free Wi-Fi, T.V. and is in range of cell phone service.

Feel like you are away from it all without being away from it all! This treehouse is located on a county road just minutes from Cape Girardeau and Interstate 55. Enjoy local wineries, shopping in historic downtown Cape Girardeau, local restaurants, golf courses, historic sites, a riverfront Casino & more!

Please note, this treehouse is adults only with a max limit of two adults. Also, no pets are allowed for safety reasons due to the height of the treehouse.

This is one amazing property! Every detail is well thought out and it is the perfect place for a couples getaway. It is clean and spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor spaces as much as the indoor ones. Host was responsive and everything was a breeze in regards to check in and check out. Great spot for a romantic retreat!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A beautiful place built on a beautiful property; we enjoyed the hot tub under the stars and the morning coffee on the porch (and another hot tub ). Great place for some R&R, and excellent communication with the owner in advance. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

We really enjoyed our peaceful getaway here. Everything was very clean and we were grateful for all the amenities and furnishings that were provided. We spent most of our time exploring Jackson, Mo which is very close to this property. Thank you for a unique and positive experience! We hope to come back for our 25th.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

The property was exactly as advertised. They’ve truly thought of so many little things that made our stay so enjoyable. There was a severe weather alert at 4 am during our stay and the hosts were checking on us the entire time to be sure all was well. We will definitely be back, for a longer stay next time! 🙂

Extremely happy with our stay! Everything was perfect and even better than we expected! We have done about a dozen VRBO and ABnB stays and this was the cleanest stay we have ever had. The outdoor bed was wonderful and the location was good. It was close to town yet couldn't see any other houses from the deck or the outdoor bed in the backyard. There was a nice firepit and hot tub, (however we didn't use them). Very fast message replys when I had a question for the hosts. This was a great stay to get away for a couple days, I highly recommend it! Thank you!

Perfect Getaway

This was a perfect getaway to unwind and unplug for a few days. The house itself is just as nice as the pictures show. I would recommend this place to family and friends looking to relax and recharge. We planned to stay in and cook all meals during our stay, but decided to go out for one dinner. There are plenty of good restaurant options just a short drive away. One item to point out that I missed when I was first considering the property, the house does not have an oven. We realized that before we left and planned our meals accordingly. There is a nice toaster oven provided. There is also a nice gas grill on the deck that fired up right away.

Anniversary weekend

The property owner was quick to respond to any/all of my questions. The property exceeded our expectations and the pictures don’t do it justice. The 2 person covered hammock by the fire pit over looking the water was a cool surprise. The four poster king size bed was very comfortable. This treehouse has all of the modern amenities and the owner pays attention to details. The hot tub was perfect for two overlooking the water. The treehouse has everything we needed to cook meals in house between the grill, toaster oven, and 2 eye burners. The property was on the edge of town so only a couple minutes from groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc. We have already planned another trip to this treehouse. We LOVED this treehouse.
