Very disappointing experience. When we arrived and entered our room, we discovered there was no toilet roll in the bathroom. I called reception to ask for some, only to be told that they were too busy to help and that we would have to walk back to reception ourselves — which was approximately a quarter of a mile away.
Rather than apologising or offering to resolve such a basic issue, the member of staff actually argued with me over the phone. I found their attitude extremely unhelpful, rude and completely unacceptable.
Having toilet roll in a hotel bathroom is a basic expectation, and guests should not have to walk a quarter of a mile to reception to collect it, especially when the problem is the hotel's own oversight.
Very poor customer service and certainly not the welcome or experience we expected.

"Clean bedroom and bathroom. Public areas not so much. When we arrived late afternoon there were empty beer bottles in the corridor near our bedroom, old, dirty, cutlery outside another, on another floor. Room service plates etc outside another. These were there still the next day at check out. Staff ..."
