The stay was nice. I expected a little better food and more availability to the restaurants rather than the buffet. The ocean location isn’t great a lot of weed on the beach. The hotel and the pool was average not more and not less. I would not choose this stay again if prob choose a better location and nicer hotel. Less.

I enjoyed our stay, we had the deluxe ocean front view room. Despite what some people have said, I only heard noise coming from people leaving their rooms when they walked by our doors. The food was good and the service was fantastic. The only drawback was I was unable able to make a reservation for their a la carte times. It kept coming up as an error, but we went out to eat instead.

The pools and the staff were excellent. The staff were very welcoming and fun, getting people involved in the activities was great and not weird or pushy. The room was clean, but the bathroom looked like it had been only partially remodeled. The mirror was peeling and you had to really maneuver the sink faucet to get it to shut off but the shower was very nice! The food was not fantastic, but not bad. I have a dairy allergy so my options were more limited, but for the most part I was able to find decent options at every meal. Aside from the minor cosmetic things, it was overall a really great stay.

Overall yes the property is nice but compared to other resorts we just didn't think it was worth it. Upon check in we were required to give a $100 deposit in pesos when we informed the staff that we unfortunately did not have pesos only our credit cards they stated that they would not be able to give us our room without the deposit. After going to the atm to retrieve the pesos we were hit with another fee that we had to pay that was $12 USD. what was weird to me was that on the paper they told us to keep track of so we would get our deposit back was a “spring break fee” didnt know that was a thing but ok. Ontop of the deposit slip we also had to keep track of our room cards, bracelets, and towel cards. room cards and bracelets i understand but the towel cards?? most resorts just let you get a towel coming and going from the pool areas. When we got to our room it was noticeably smaller than previous resorts we had been too you could tell it had been recently upgraded by the flooring in the restroom that was done incorrectly. When getting into bed at night we noticed that one of the decorative pillows and also the bed sheets had stains, we also noticed that the mini fridge in our room didn’t work, the beverages that it had were warm. One of the nights we were in the jacuzzi around 7:04 with another couple and a family, mind you the jacuzzi has an adults only sign. we were all in our own conversations but a worker came up to us only and stated that the jacuzzi area was now close

I picked this resort based off of reviews so I’d like to share my perspective on details I wish I would have known. Let’s start with the pros: the customer service was excellent and the property is very well maintained. Now for the cons: the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything around us which made sleeping well not easy. The staff would begin cleaning fairly early and were very loud: Talking loudly and moving furniture. I could hear conversations the people next to us were having as if they were in the room with me. Next, the food was average but I suppose that is to be expected at an all inclusive. We brought our 14 year old daughter and there were not any activities for kids her age. It definitely seemed more of a place for families with young kids. It’s hard to know which resorts are best for teens since they consider ‘kids’ 12 and younger. So I wish we had known more about the typical age ranges and activities available. Overall, our stay was ok. I rated it a bit lower mainly due to the beds and pillows not being very comfortable and the noise issues in the rooms.

Clean room. Great staff. The pool and activities are very good. But a couple of things could be better: 1. Limited and repeated food items in buffet. Specially if you’re vegetarian or have dietary restrictions, your options would be salad, fruit and bread. 2. We stayed for 6 days and were given only 2 restaurant reservations. They only have 3 restaurants. For a 5-star, that is low (especially if you compare it to other properties in the hotel zone). 3. The staff forgot about a pre-paid birthday package I booked for my husband. When I called to check, they remembered and did the decor but they forgot to change the drink to non-alcoholic as per my request. We got it changed later but that was disappointing on the birthday night. 4. The swim up bar, pizza bar and cafe close by 6. So if you’re coming back from a tour in the evening and want to take a dip and enjoy the facilities, you cannot. 5. They have a $100 Mexican Pesos charge for room service. For an all-inclusive, this is an extra charge that most other hotels do not have. So that wasn’t something we were aware of. Otherwise, the location is great. The pool is wonderful. The breakfast spread is very good. The lobby bar that opens at 11 AM is also wonderful and has lots happening each night. The theatre has shows every night that are different and wonderful. The kids club had activities between 4-5 PM like face painting, etc that are good too. I would rate this place a 3.5/5 and call it a 4 star at best.

We have stayed at the GR for about 10 years. Unfortunately, we are looking to try a different resort next year. We were just somewhat disappointed with some of the changes. We have gotten upgrades in the past, but they wouldn’t move us across the hall to a partial ocean view and they were NOT full.. The towels were very dingy and kinda nasty.. The staff were nice enough, but it was just different…. Also, the hot tub was pretty gross…. The entertainment wasn’t as good as it had been, and I think several of the entertainment staff have left with a change in the management. The evening entertainment was soooo loud it made it hard to sit through. They only gave us two bottles of water in our room, and there were 3 of us. When we asked for more water, they were reluctant to give us more. They wanted us to continue to use the same plastic bottle for a week and fill them at the water station down the hall. They now charge a small fee for room service. Never had that before. Again, the staff were friendly enough, but all of the small things added up and we were overall a little disappointed.

The pool was always full, did not get in once, the beach unable to much sarcasm, the staff ok, except for the concierges trying to sell. Wasn’t able to make a dinner reservation .

Everything was perfect, the room, the pools, entertainment. The beach being right there, our room was front and center of the whole resort with an absolute stunning view. Would stay there every time we visit Cancun. Staff was friendly and always willing to help out. Thank You GR Solaris for an excellent experience and a great vacation!!
