"The hotel’s ancient even though they’ve renovated some of the rooms. They said ours was newly renovated but the bathroom reeked of mildew! And the smell started wafting into the bedroom. There was no soap or shampoo in the shower dispenser. They have ZERO amenities at the hotel. The front desk clerk was kind enough to give my cousin and I each a bottle of water from the staff personal stash. I mean ZERO amenities!!! I’d never stay here again."

"The hotel and rooms are old. It's noisy outside. There were workers doing maintenance, which wasn't a great experience. Even though the guy gave us a better room, it still wasn't clean or modern enough. The New Yorker Hotel has a good reputation, and I hope they take better care of it in the future."

"Whilst the website makes clear it's undergoing refurbishment there's nothing that clearly defines the impact we stayed in a room I believed had been renovated on floor 21 however the room certainly didn't look freshly decorated, the blind only went up and down halfway and the air con whilst cook made a horrible noise all night long and constantly sounded like dripping water. Then to top it all every morning we're woken at 7 but the sound of workmen upstairs drilling banging and crashing."
