It’s a good base for Caen if you don’t have a car. Close to the train station, close to city center (walking distance or taking the tram). Shower is amazing water pressure, kitchen is super clean and has a small fridge, microwave and stove (didn’t use). Nice sealed window so it’s quiet inside the room. The AC could use some work perhaps - it’s not super cold, maybe just a maintenance issue.

Conveniently located, close to the train station but we had a car. Secured parking area for the hotel which was nice. Lots of places to eat close by. Area is pretty along the river front. The staff were friendly and the suite spacious with a small kitchenette. Despite the hotel advertising laundry facilities, their dryer was not working and they charge 10€ to do a load for you. We were on the top floor and the a/c wasn’t really working so was a bit warm. Hallways were cooler than room. They said it was fixed but it wasn’t really so left the window open. For the money you can’t go wrong.

This could have been a better review, but we booked what they call a 2 bedroom suite as we were travelling with my mother in law. When we checked in, the room was a 1 bedroom. The room ad said separate bedrooms and separate living/eating area, but the “2nd bedroom” was a pull out couch in the living area. We asked for an upgrade to the room we booked and pre paid for, but they wouldn’t move us. We asked to compromise and if they included free breakfast or something, we could overlook the mistake, but they said there was nothing they could do, only that they were going to change the wording so it doesn’t happen to the next person. The surrounding area was a bit of a sketchy area, however, the only saving grace was the Italian Restaurant, Almafi, about a block away. Phenomenal food, wine and service!! 10/10!!!

Clean room, convenient location, good-average stay

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable (except the sheet which was way too small for the bed). It was well equipped for cooking, including a coffee machine (although no coffee provided). We didn't have breakfast as it was pricy and preferred to get a pastry from a local bakery. Check-in: we arrived in the morning and were able to leave our bags at reception. We returned at 15:55 and were sent to the games room to wait until check-in opened at 16:00. This seemed a little petty; there were 3 members of staff there doing nothing but counting the minutes until check-in opened... The decor in the corridors was very worn, and desperately needed new carpets. Although probably clean, they were very stained and the corridors felt dark & dingy. The separate up & down lifts is random but maybe a hangover from covid? The entrance is locked after 11pm, and our keycard did not open the door either of the 2 nights we stayed. The first night a porter came immediately, but the second night we had to ring the bell at least 10 times before then calling a mobile number (twice - first call we were hung up on) then waiting for the night porter to eventually let us in. The hotel is in a really convenient location (esp. for the station) and the room was nice, especially if you want to cook your own food.
