I didn't and it is a 15-min/ 1km hike up from the very reliable and inexpensive ferry and train. It took me (not young and used to the US suburbs) a day to get acclimatized to this - it is an alpine village. The town of Lierna and this apartment are perfectly suited to day hikers. "

"We loved our stay at Il Perlo. The views from our room and the restaurant patio are hard to beat, looking down at Bellagio and across Lake Como in many directions. We also loved that there was a free shuttle going down to the main city area since the hotel is about an 8 min drive from the center, or 35 minute walk. Breakfast was also good, plenty of options including for special diets (gluten free, vegetarian, dairy, etc). We would definitely stay again."
