This was the worst experience I have had in a hotel. The rooms were freezing cold no hot water in the morning and we had to leave our coats on while eating in the bar because it was so cold.
- Outside of Hotel Filthy first impression
- Room wasn't ready as promised
- Pint of Guinness was WARM that was ordered while waiting on room
- Changed to Heineken to be told all 4 Taps were not working
- Partner went to the toilet & came back & advised the tile was hanging down from the ceiling (health & safety both up to standards)
- Requested WIFI code SIX times from bar staff as no signal whatsoever & needed to check on kids at home through WhatsApp - I myself went to the reception &was advised there was NO WIFI it was broke & they are still waiting on someone to fix it
- Went to the Ladies bathroom and theu were filthy, out of all the toilet cubicles not ONE Square of toilet roll and three forks on the ground - can't say they were cleaned in a while
I'm disgusted My mother's day night away was ruined
I didn't even want to stay after going out to ask for toilet roll there was another couple with young kids demanding their money back also after only checking in less than an hour!!!
Shocking
Do Not Book
Completely ruined my night away ended up coming home and not so much as an apology from them at the desk or did they look surprised when I asked for a refund
The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the lobby looked lovely. The staff were more than pleasant and helpful BUT there was no hot water in the shower – this was a major shock and inconvenience. There was only one hand towel in the room although there were two bath towels
The television did not work (despite valiant efforts by the woman on duty that night), nor did the televisions in several other rooms work. One had to goo the reception desk to get the wifi code because the one given over the phone from reception did not work. The receptionist then input the correct wifi code and explained that the codes had to continually change for security reasons (school children in the lobby). The fruit salad at breakfast was utterly tasteless, the orange juice lacked any flavour, and the coffee was not very good. The brown bread was excellent while the Danish pastries were overcooked and over iced. The smoked salmon pieces looked like they were totally dried out. I told all of that to reception when leaving and was told that the general manager would phone me - a few weeks later, I have not heard a word. I'm very disappointed, for me and for exceptionally good staff.
My family and I have stayed here several times over the years. Each time the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortably and the food is delicious.
I would highly recommend a staying here, it is one of the nicest hotels in the area. I would also recommend exploring all options before booking to ensure the best price.

One night stopover
Modern hotel but perhaps just a bit frayed round the edges, restaurant and bar area was really chilly - it was a very cold night but the rooms were warm and a really smart bathroom.
A one night stopover on the way to Dublin airport. Large Hotel, and, in a modern way, quite grand. Room very comfortable and warm - it was very cold outside! The public areas were less warm though, especially the bar area. Food ok in the restaurant with nice staff.
Cold hotel, very noisy stayed on level 1 band and music very loud. Heating wouldn't work. Electricity broke in our room so got moved for second night to two single beds even though paid for a double room. No remote for tv and then when we got one tv only had 1 station. Heating wouldn't work in second room.
Food was okay but will not be back.
Excellent value for B&B, food was good and served really quickly. Room was very clean and comfy. I haven't any complaints about this hotel but I noticed the fabric seats in the bar were absolutely filthy and do need replaced. Staff were very friendly. Nothing really to see in Bunclody but we used it as a base to explore the wider Wexford area. Would definitely recommend for value.
The staff of the hotel was wonderful however the facility was AWFUL! Our first room reeked of smoke and was supposed to be a non smoking room. The TV never worked beyond 1 channel the entire stay. Breakfast was awful. The toilet did not work consistently, the seat was not connected properly. It is a real shame that such a wonderful town has a hotel that the owner does not care about. I feel horrible for the staff, they are constantly yelled at by people staying at the hotel with very limited options as to what they could do because the owner gives them no resources.

Nice hotel but needs renovation
The Millrace is a nice hotel right next to the Golf Club of Bunclody. The rooms are not to small BUT the hotel definitely needs a complete renovation. Without this, I would not stay there again
Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel itself was quite run down, you can tell nobody really cares about it anymore. Chairs/couches in the bar area were old & dirty, food was terrible in the restaurant..over cooked steak, undercooked veg, poor breakfast buffet..facilities in the room were bad and cleaners didn't replace dirty glasses/change sheets, the leisure centre changing rooms & facilities were filthy and not taken care of, some staff were quite incompetent (took 2 different members and a phone call to figure out what time check-out was when I asked) The overall feeling is that the hotel needs a bit of love (& cash) put into it. I'd imagine it was a great place 10 years ago however I wouldn't be in a rush back.

Bar and restaurant needs to be deep cleaned. Lack of towels in bedroom when asked for some took ages to get no spoons with tea coffee facilities. There spa was lovely therapist was amazing only fault the relaxing room could be darker

Poor technology and problems with keys
Lift wasn't working for 2 days
Key cards had to be replaced 5 times in 3 days and had to run up and down stairs to get replacements.
WiFi only lasted 24 hours and had to get a new code everyday to re register.
limited channels on TV
Overall thought it had gone downhill from previous stay 5 years ago.
Probably wouldn't go back.
The Night Porter was fantastic! Despite a midnight check-in he kept the bar open and was so helpful! Even a jug of iced water at bedtime was no trouble. Breakfast was tasty and the buffet was well maintained, value for money on Expedia - highly recommended!
We have stayed in the Millrace Hotel before so we were familiar with the hotel. The fact we went back is a good sign isn't it. We booked through hotels.com and for just under €190.00 for two nights including breakfast and the use of the pool and jacuzzi, we felt is was great value. That is from Friday to Sunday.
We did not eat in the restaurant, other than for breakfast, because we had looked at the Saturday evening menu and apart from eating dinner before seven, we decided it was a bit pricey for us. Ever other night they have a specially priced menu so it's worth considering other nights for dinner.
We will go back again because it's a welcoming hotel and the staff are great. Would we recommend it without a doubt and from Dublin it's only a 75 minute drive away. The Millrace is ace.
