"Family friendly hotel near Universal Studios. Hotel is old and could use a refresh. The beds are firm and perfect for me. The pool area is basic but functional. Pool is not heated and cold but kids don’t mind. Rooms were not ready at 3pm and a hand full of guests had to wait but check in agent was nice. Free shuttle was convenient and a nice to have. Parking for $25 a night seems unnecessary for the area and hotel level. "

"We had a spacious clean room with separate bedroom area with views of the mtns. Parking garage was well lit with easy in/out access. Walking distance to restaurants. Staff at check in was friendly. I would stay again if in the area"

"The layout of the room was great. It was 10 to 15 min from universal studios and Hollywood walk of fame and the Hollywood sign. The staff was friendly, but the wifi was spotty and the breakfast was ok, it was mostly sweet snacks, cereal and oatmeal and coffee, was expecting more. The stay was pleasant."

"Toliet was leaking all night, the shower was disgusting full of orange residue as if no one scrubed it for months. 7 dollars for parking on almost the street. On hotels.com it is described as inn but its clearly named motel on the building sign. False advertisement, overall i had a horrendous nightmare staying there! Needless to i will never be coming back to this dump again."

"I chose Glendale Express Hotel for its convenient location to the places we planned to visit for my husband’s birthday weekend. Unfortunately, the photos online do not accurately reflect how the hotel appears in person. Upon arrival, the staff was not very welcoming. We arrived a bit early for check-in and asked if we could leave our bags in the lobby area and use the pool while we waited. We were told no, since a room key is required to access the pool and keys are only issued at check-in. This was disappointing, as many hotels are willing to accommodate this especially for guests staying the entire weekend. We ended up leaving to spend time at the Galleria Mall instead. When we finally entered our room, there was a strong, unpleasant odor, and the bathroom smelled distinctly like wet dog. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The rooms are in serious need of updates, including the wallpaper, ceilings, flooring, curtains, and mattresses. Even the hallways had a persistent musty smell. Prior to arrival, we were informed in writing that housekeeping services were available upon request. On Saturday morning, as we were heading out, I requested that our room be cleaned. I was told there was no one available to clean it, but someone could remove our trash. This was surprising and disappointing. I asked that four fresh towels at least be provided when the trash was collected. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return to this hotel."
