Talkin Tarn Country Park, just a few miles outside of town, is beautiful with its 65-acre lake set amidst 120 acres of woodland, the ideal place to enjoy a walk or even try your hand at some boating on the lake.

The beautiful border city of Carlisle is a 20-minute drive away where you can visit the castle or just take in some retail therapy at some of the high street shops. Or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the pretty village of Gretna Green? While at Constable Cottage however, no stay would be complete without a visit to the stunning Lake District National Park with its majestic mountains and lakes, and thriving communities like Keswick and Windermere.
