The property was in a nice neighborhood. Our room was in the basement which was poorly ventilated. The laminate floor was water damaged and breaking apart. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn’t work properly. We notified the front desk on Friday, but it was never fixed through our stay the following Thursday. We were asked to use the common bathroom two floors up. There was no linen service for the week. Because of the poor ventilation, no air conditioning, or screen on the window, there was no real way to cool or dehumidify the room. Leaving the window completely open to bugs or other was not an option. It was difficult because of the heat wave and general lack of comfort s, which we do realize is a regional norm.

My husband and I have stayed at many hotels in many places all over the world and I truly believe The Rubens at the Palace has the best staff of any we have ever experienced. When you stay with them you are truly treated like royalty. They genuinely appreciate you choosing to stay with them and do everything they can to ensure you know that. The hotel itself was beautiful and you can't beat the location, looking directly over Buckingham Palace and within walking distance of so many great restaurants and shops and the local subway station is within eyeshot of the hotel. We toured most of the city and would choose to stay in this area over any other. The rooms were incredibly clean and super charming. The double bed felt a bit tight for my husband and myself but other than that there are literally no complaints. We will 100% stay here again next time we are in London.

Londons best hotel - perfect

We had the suite which was a pleasant surprise upgrade. The hotel was easy to find, quite small but offered some where to sit and have a drink of you wanted inside or out. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathroom was nice, clean and a good standard. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. There were bedside lamps which were handy and charging points for your phone etc. It had a tv and a seating area. A hair dryer was provided which was a nice surprise. The air con was a huge success as it was very hot. There was no breakfast Option but there was plenty of choice around it . Complimentary tea coffee etc and biscuits. We would and will return and I recommend this hotel if you want a nice clean hotel in this area. Everyone was very friendly and helpful which is always a bonus. It was also good value for money in my opinion.
