"My friend and I stayed for two nights at the West Hotel Ataman. Our rooms were clean and spacious with comfortable beds, excellent shower and lovely breakfast with good choice of food. "It's a new hotel at older part of Batumi. Rooms are nice and fresh. The area is quieter than modern parts of Batumi and not popular among Arabs etc. Thanks to this there is minimal traffic at night. There are still plenty of restaurants and shops around and it's a small walk to the beach. If you let them know ahead then they reserve parking place in front of the hotel. "Definitely did not feel not a 5* hotel, more around a 3.5*. Staff were helpful enough even though they seemed little bored half the time. The room, while good size and comfortable beds, always had a terrible smell, which came from the bathroom; which, also while also being decent size, felt like many times, you needed wear a gas mask to use, as the smell was ofter unbearable, coming from the vent above. Also, only paper cups , no glassware or china, come on now!....As some have mentioned, you can at night hear the sounds from the nightclub below until around 2-3am, so if you are a very early/light sleeper, might be a problem..otherwise its not too big of a deal. Best thing about this hotel, is the location, close to the boulevard and beach, variety of shops & dining options within walking distance & very easy to access the rest of city from there."
