The property was great!! The dishes, cups and furniture was far from clean. For the price, we were all disappointed we had to clean.

Nice cabin with so much fishing and camping all around. Busier in July than it was 20 years ago but still a good getaway area.

We stayed here to ski a few days in Aspen. The cabin is just under an hour away, and it was perfect. Spacious and comfortable, and much more affordable than the lodging closer to the resorts. We would have loved to stay longer.

Had a great experience overall. Loved getting off the grid. The property manager was quick to answer questions, and the stove had a log warming up when we arrived, which was so nice 🙌 definitely plan on coming back 💯

We enjoyed Lazy Bear cabin and it’s tranquil setting. We saw a bear and two deer fawns with their mamas. We wished it was closer to our planned activities, and that the electric grill worked. Overall, it was a great way to spend some quality time with our adult kiddos! Thanks, The Parker’s

The property has a wonderful cabin feel with the log cabin construction, carvings, deck and views. The location near world class fly fishing and a variety of outdoor activities is very unique. Basalt is a short drive away for fun restaurants and shops. The kitchen is equipped at a basic level consistent with a rustic cabin and worked fine for meals at the cabin. We enjoyed fly fishing at the nearby Frying Pan River and spectacular fall color hikes at Maroon Bells and other areas near Aspen. It was a good home base for a memorable family experience.

The cabin was lovely and a beautiful place to stay. The kitchen had everything needed to cook for a group of 6 for the long weekend. The wood stove was perfect for the winter nights. One of the bedrooms had 2 twin beds, which were very squeaky, so we just used the sofa bed instead and it was quite comfortable. Our only wish was that there was WiFi or a land line phone at the house. Being so far out of town and without cell service, it would have been a comfort to have some connection. Plus a way to make restaurant reservations before driving into town. With that being said, it was so nice to disconnect from technology and just have fun and laugh together.

This is a beautiful property and location. Home was awesome. We had a wonderful stay and everything we needed. The only problem and the only reason for not giving the rating all fives is that we did not have hot water the whole time we were there. However, they did compensate us for that. We knew that there was no cell phone service and no land line so we were fine with that except when we had no hot water there was no way to contact management company to let them know until we drove into town so we could text them. And then they thought they had it fixed but it wasn’t and again, we would have had to drive someplace that had cell phone service. We would stay here again for sure because it is a beautiful home and they did at least try to get it fixed and did compensate us some for the inconvenience.

This cabin was everything we were looking for. We have a 12 year old boy and 5 year old girl who both love playing and the outdoors. This cabin provided hours of hide and seek opportunities throughout the week. From the moment we arrived until we reluctantly left 6 days later, we enjoyed every second of our time in the cabin. It was very clean and everything we needed was there. The kitchen had 2 really good skillets, some pots and plenty of mixing bowls. Plenty of dishes for a larger family than ours. There is no dishwasher, but I kind of enjoyed the few minutes it took me to wash the dishes after each meal. Basic spices, cleaning supplies, trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, ziplock bags, foil, and tupperware type containers were all provided. The deck has a Foreman electric grill which worked just fine for our steaks and burgers. No fire pits or open fires allowed because of the fire ban. The large table on the deck was perfect! We spent lots of time out there in the beautiful weather enjoying the views. There are other cabins around, but it still feels secluded because of all the birch trees surrounding the property. We couldn't find any trails right outside the cabin, but there were awesome trails right off Frying Pan Rd. before you head up the road to the cabin. We also enjoyed the 3 day use areas ($7 a day) on the Ruedi Reservoir that were easily accessible from the Frying Pan River withing a few miles of the cabin. Wish we had brought our boat because the boat ramp was easily accessible and the lake was beautiful and not over crowded at all. Even on the weekend. The town on Basalt was super cute. I took our 5 year old to the awesome library with trails behind it and a very unique tree hoouse. There's a free splash pad at Willits Center along with a Whole Foods, Bristlecone Mountain Sports and other good stores. No where around to rent a canoe or kayak for use on the Reservoir, that was a bit disappointing, but you can rent paddle boards there in Basalt. It was about a 25 min drive into Basalt from the cabin. But it didn't even feel like it because the drive was along the Frying Pan River and extremely beautiful! Kate was wonderful to work with and we highly recommend this cabin. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed our stay and was sad to leave. The only draw back was the basement bathtub/shower drain was not working properly. Good thing there was only 3 of us that no issues sharing the 1st floor bathroom.

The house is gorgeous, but driving through the narrow streets with rocks falling. Streets that being slippery with a lot of snow and there are no guard rails on the very steep streets, you could just slip right off of the cliff. This will give you a heart attack. Go in the summer.
