"We had a great time socializing by the incredible babbling creek. Lots of space and nice property. The only thing is the wood rockers in the gazebo smelled really bad from mold and mildew. We moved them out of the gazebo."

This one is very comfortable, and they must have worked on cleaning because it was mostly fine. Not perfect, but acceptable. Plenty of towels. Main bed is super comfy and the room is quiet and dark. Upstairs ceiling is low so duck but it's worth the tradeoff of having 3 bedrooms with 4 beds (hard to find in the area). TV works great with...

"The house was just as described. It was enough room for our family of 5, close enough to everything we wanted to do, & hot tub was great! The only issues, which were not deal breakers & I’d still stay again, were the fact the the loft is super hot for whoever stays up there and the smell of sewage. I assume it is coming from the garage disposal. We bought a candle and some febreeze spray and it was fine. We would definitely stay here again!"

"This was a perfect house to stay at in Banner Elk and was very close to the main street in Banner Elk making it incredibly convenient. The instructions and communication with Kelsey were super clear and she made us feel very welcome. The house was immaculate and the hot tub was an extra bonus! "We had a great stay! The home had amazing views, perfect location, easy access to Banner Elk and other area features—the quiet was perfect busy family members! The home is a wonderful knotty pine accented hideaway that has cozy spaces for each person — well furnished and equipped, the property has the customer’s every need thought out and provided. "We stayed at Heavens Door over my best friend’s wedding weekend, and it was the perfect jumping off point for festivities as well as a lovely place to relax. Plenty of room for the entire family, and pet friendliness is a huge plus!"

"This place is an easy 15 minutes to Beech Mountain. Our teens loved the hot tub! The only heaters in the home are space heaters and a ventless gas heater which we didn’t leave on due to the smell. The property manager was very quick to send someone out to light the heater. Fortunately it was not very cold during our stay. The walls were pretty thin so it was hard to have privacy. Otherwise it was clean and convenient. I would suggest upgrading on the heat though."

"Went here with a group of 9 total. We loved the creeks on the property and the seating for outside; we have been taking an annual trip for 3 years now and it is hard to find seating for everybody. Inside we were able to fit everyone on the couches and chairs, with a few people rotating (some of us have joint issues so the seats were uncomfortable for our hips, but that is not an issue with the house). "House was great. Only part that was a little odd was the downstairs as to get to 2 of the bedrooms you had to walk through another bedroom. Nothing like saying a lack of privacy for one set. My guess is they turned what was a sitting area into another bedroom and made other rooms have to go through it. Was totally adequate for us as it was all family but if you are mixed families for a trip just know it may be awkward in the bottom level."

After I asked for more towels, the owner said she’d contact the cleaning crew- which never delivered ….and she never followed up. "Based on earlier reviews, I was worried about cleanliness, but everything was fine. House was very convenient to hawknest which is what we were going for, so that was great. We had slight issue getting in, but got it resolved fairly quickly."
