"Our goal for our trip to Japan was to hike Mount Fuji, but one of the unexpected highlights was our stay at the Kappo Ryokan Uoichi! Post-hike, we moved from Tokyo to Osaka with a stop at the Ryokan in Shimada. Two families (eight of us) stayed at Kappo Ryokan Uoichi and had a wonderful time. "A fairly standard business hotel — perfectly serviceable but showing its age a bit. The room and facilities felt older, and cleanliness could have been a little better. Staff were friendly and polite, and the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood with some great dining options close by. Overall fine for a short stay, but could use a bit of freshening up."
