In all honesty, I must say Island Paradise is a lovely 5-story home (including the carport area). The views of the home were breathtaking, although it was not beachfront. The views traveling to the home were even extraordinary. The house was huge and spacious. It had plenty of beds for everyone in my party. Those in my party mostly loved that each bedroom had a full bathroom. TBH, If I had the opportunity to book this home again, I probably would, pending some issues with it and the host's service being corrected. The issues encountered for me were not too major, but I would consider a problem for the price and for this home to be mistreated and neglected in such a way. I will begin with the day of arrival. When we arrived, the trash cans out front were filled with trash and smelled, like all 5 of them. This was very disappointing to find because we checked in on Saturday, trash pickups are Friday and Tuesday, and there was no reason for the trash cans to be full. I texted this information to Vacasa customer service and received care and concern but no action. Ok, moving along, we entered the home and at first, glance was very pleased with what we found until taking our time and getting acquainted. We noticed quite a bit of cleanliness issues in the home. There were spills, trash, dust balls, and hair (you get the pic) behind chairs and between corners of the dressers, chests, and nightstands throughout the home. The vents appeared to not have been dusted in a while, carpets could use a shampoo, and the shower heads in the bathrooms have calcium buildup along with soap scum, dirt, grime, and possible mold built up in the shower grout/caulk. The refrigerator located in the game room smelled a little fishy but that is to be expected since this area is big on fishing. There were spider webs noticed outside and throughout certain areas of the home, but no insects were noted inside. The dishes in the cabinets were very nasty with caked-on food which most likely came from the dishwasher and due to people being too lazy to hand wash dishes these days. I've learned dishwashers do not always remove food from dishes, therefore they do need to be double-checked before placing them into cabinets. I prefer handwashing my dishes so that I am sure they are cleaned. The windows and sliding glass doors could use a cleaning. They were quite dirty and it was difficult to enjoy the views unless one was directly on the balcony. Also, I would like to note for this is a non-smoking property, there were cigarette butts found on the balcony near the jacuzzi and upstairs in the screened-in porch area. Last, on cleanliness, trash was in the trash can located in the kitchen. It was obvious that it was not emptied before our arrival. Now onto the home and amenities. There was quite a bit of disappointment in Vacasa as a managing company. My advice to them is to please do better. Some in my party had to endure lumpy and uncomfortable beds in some rooms, no trash bags/trash cans in the bathrooms, and insufficient paper products, or starter kits in some bathrooms. Most bathrooms received 1 very small bar of soap and a small tube of shampoo and that was it. Of course, we came prepared from knowing what to expect. Therefore that was not a problem for us. So this is a heads up to anyone looking to rent this home through Vacasa or any home for a prolonged period. Some maintenance items that need attention, starting with the 1st floor of the game room, the television in the bedroom on this floor would never turn on, the ceiling fan in that room did not work, and the handicapped shower that is designed for that room only allowed water to pour out into the floor that had to be wiped up every time the shower was used. There was no mop so towels had to be used. I later purchased a cheap mop from Dollar Tree and left it in the home. The hose outside on the patio near the pool and hot tub kept dripping. It will not shut off. I am sure the water bill is not pretty. Two ...
