Charming B&B! Area is lovely (although it was raining during our stay so we didn’t get as much of a chance to enjoy the location as we would have liked… but it IS breathtaking.) On the bay, lovely walk to town … couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful spot! Hosts are wonderful people … homemade bread and jams, fruit, yogurt and assorted cereals for breakfast… would recommend Dovecote to everyone!

This B&B was so cozy and quaint. It is located just steps away from the beautiful Blockhouse Beach. Nathan and Tim were excellent hosts catering to all of me and my family's needs and wants. You must have Nathan cook for you during your stay, he is an incredible chef! The cats were adorable and so sweet. I highly recommend that you enhance your trip to Auckland by staying at this charming B&B!

Positives: I liked the house, situation and friendly owners. It was quiet and thick curtains made for a dark room for good sleep. Breakfast homemade items were nice. Negatives: I found the bedroom to be small, awkward to move around or put things out of the way. There was an issue with bathroom, so we had to use downstairs. Appreciated, but older people going downstairs a couple of times at night is precarious. Victorian touches (silverware...) are lovely but need to be practical too. Owners have made a great attempt but need to refine some things.

A very comfortable and delightful stay. Wonderfully warm hosts who are very attentive and have thought of everything plus more. Throw in amazing treats likes homemade jams, jellies and bread and it is a gourmet delight! Thank you both, we enjoyed meeting you and will return.

Ethan and Tim were very gracious hosts, the property was well-kept and fancifully decorated, and the continental breakfast was excellent. Our room was very comfortable, and there was no issue with the shared bath since there was only one other guest room. Highly recommended.

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful, quaint home where service and attention to detail are second to none. It is located within a minute's walk to a cute little beach area. Breakfast is prepared freshly every morning and you can smell the fresh bread baking overnight. I didn't try out the dinner service but the other guests there said it was delicious!

The owners of the property have gone over and above to make this B&B welcoming and usable. The house is amazing with its cottage style garden and the attention to detail in the rooms is very high. The breakfast is fresh, natural, wholesome, and were possible homemade. A lovely touch. I recommend a stay if you fancy something a little different.

The most impressive feature was attention to detail. Nathan and Tim had included lots of thoughtful touches. The rooms were comfortable, the ambience was restful, the compendium clearly answered all your questions, the toiletries were lovely and I had enjoyable conversations and meals with them both.

Dovecote House transports you back in time. The garden is thoughtfully landscaped and secluded. Inside is beautifully decorated and furnished-as true to its origins as it can get. Attention to every detail is outstanding; from the homemade preserves and the silver service at breakfast to the claw foot bath to soak in. It is very clean. Nathan and Tim have created a delightful sanctuary for the weary traveller.
