Great location, comfortable bed, very friendly staff, lovely bar and fantastic breakfast

For being a property with no on site front desk person, we were very impressed. You have to make sure to keep the entry codes handy for sure - this place is located in a very busy part of town and there is a bus stop right outside the door so a lot of people are around. Staff was very accommodating and helpful - every message we sent was replied to right away. Parking is hard so we returned our rental at the train station before walking to the property. The room itself was very nice and clean - excellent stay. Thank you!

This hotel is next door to Edinburgh Waverley station, so for us arriving via train it was perfect, however if the lower entrance is not open you will need your climbing legs as to reach it there is a set of about 60 steps to ascend or a walk round the block to avoid the stairs. It is a few steps from the Royal Mile so easy access to many of the attractions along there. The staff are really helpful and welcoming and as we arrived early they took our bags from us and placed them in our room when it was ready. The room was spacious and very clean, comfortable and incredibly quiet - we heard no street noise or from the wedding party that was there the night we arrived. The hotel has a small cinema attached which is in a wonderful art deco design with sumptuous seats and allows you to take in the drinks you buy at the bar there and you get a discount if staying at The Scotsman. Overall a wonderful stay and when visiting Edinburgh again we will be staying there.
