"We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. "We had a wonderful stay! The property is in a fantastic location, just a 2 minute walk from Takayama Station. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a great bathtub. Free breakfast had great options. The only downside was that there’s no lift from the ground level up to reception, which might be tricky if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent."

"We took japanese style bedroom but the futons were super thin so uncomfortable. The private onsen was a bit smelly making the experience less enjoyable. For the travel to reach the place, we struggle little to go by bus. For the positive, the staff was amazing and helpful, the breakfast has lot of varieties for everyone. The room was super clean, spacious and very beautiful. Spending time with dogs around was lovely... what an amazing concept hotel."
