2nd time staying here, and it was once again great. Clean, spacious (for Japan), great staff, and great location. The only downside is the hotel has become popular with tour groups since last year, so every morning a new bus load would leave, and every evening a new busload would check in. Still, the rooms are well insulated, so I never heard anything, just know that this is a popular hotel, so checking in or out during peak hours might take a little while.

Confidently one of the best ryokan in Kyushu! I have stayed in many decent ryokans in Japan, but Kyutei managed to exceed expectations in all aspects. Highlights are

Great location - close to the main shopping arcade. Rooms were clean and decent size. Staff were great. The public onsen was nice but smaller for the size of the hotel. Unfortunately, due to the lack of consideration for other guests from parents, there was an intolerable amount of noisy children who were treating the onsen as a swimming pool.

The best onsen hotel that we ever stayed at! the room is huge and hospitality was outstanding! also, dinner was very delicious as well! highly recommend this onsen hotel
