"Staff were very friendly, rooms were very clean and modernized. Hotel itself is more dated but that adds to the charm. Not having an outdoor space/terrace was a shame given the beautiful weather.
More of a formal hotel compared to other boutique hotels. Lovely stay overall, a cool experience to stay in a historical hotel."
"The room was good but bathroom plugs etc needed repair. Would have been nice if I didn’t have to ask for water to be delivered to room.
The staff were very helpful but had to request room to be cleaned on one of the days. Had waited patiently until 4.00 p.m. We had been forgotten.
On our last day there was a conference which was to last a week. Hundreds of people in reception area and lounge area. Very very noisy and nowhere for other guests to go to get away from the noise. We had booked out of our room, so couldn’t go there and it was 31 degrees outside, so far too hot for an elderly couple to go out.
Sorry but will think twice before staying in your hotel again."
"Beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds, staff was extremely friendly. Only downside was the service at all the meals was extremely disappointing. Unattententive, forgetful, and had to ask for drinks, food items, etc. 2 or 3 times on multiple occasions."

Breakfast staff welcoming and efficient with showing routine. Good range of selection of food on offer.
Room just what I needed with airconditioning, very clean, comfortable bed with cool cotton bedding. Bar staff cheerful and caring.
Close to venue of Brighton centre for my conference.
I'm impressed and will definitely choose this hotel for next stay in Brighton!"

Room had air conditioning which was bonus but bit of a climb up stairs to reach it.
Lift unfortunately not working but able to use disability lift.
