「Just a heads up for English speaking travelers, that only one peraon who worked there spoke a little English, which is understandable but just an fyi. It made check-in a little difficult. The shower did not really work. I was only there for a day. It is nice for a more rugged kind of place. A little run down, but unique. The people where nice and helpful despite the language barrier. Again, I am not saying the people who live in rual Costa Rica should know how to speak English of course, but...

In the day we saw many birds. The little side kitchen was nice, and the hostess cooked very good breakfasts of local food, much of which they grew. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughter’s bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos.
